National Eligibility and Entrance Test

The Ministry of Human Resource development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act -1956 and the Dentists Act-1948 and as amended from time to time, NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2019 (NEET (UG) - 2019) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Pondicherry. Intermediate graduates (10+2) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks can apply online at nta.ac.in. The exam will be conducted through pen paper based mode. The exam conducting authority will prepare All India Merit List of successful candidates on the basis of the eligibility criteria & marks scored in the NEET examination. The merit list will be announced after the NEET result declaration. Under 15% all India quota, the merit list will be equal to the availability of seats for allotment in MBBS/BDS programme. List of successful candidates will be forwarded to the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for the online counselling procedure.

Inter-se-merit of candidate for tie-breaking

In the case of two three candidates obtaining equal marks in NEET , the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in the order of preference as follows:

  1. Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology( Botany & Zoology ) in the test.
  2. Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the test.
  3. Candidates with less number of attempted wrong answer in all the subject in the test.
  4. Candidates older in age  to be preferred.

Merit List for seats other than 15% all India Quota

CBSE will provide All India Rank. Admitting Authorities will invite applications for counselling and merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the Admitting Authorities subject to their applicable rules.

The list of successful candidates of NEET who have registered themselves for AFMC on www.afmcdg1d.gov.in shall be forwarded to the Directorate General of Armed Force Medical Service, Ministry of Defence, Government of India for second stage screening and counseling.
