National Eligibility and Entrance Test

The Ministry of Human Resource development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions

As per regulations framed under the Indian Medical Council Act -1956 and the Dentists Act-1948 and as amended from time to time, NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2019 (NEET (UG) - 2019) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament i.e. AIIMS and JIPMER Pondicherry. Intermediate graduates (10+2) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks can apply online at nta.ac.in. The exam will be conducted through pen paper based mode.             The NEET seat reservation for 15% All India Quota seats will be in accordance with the central reservation policy. However, the seats will follow their own reservation criteria for 85% State Quota seats. The seat reservation given here is applicable for 15% All India Quota MBBS/BDS seats only.

            NEET UG is scheduled to be held on May 5, 2019, and the result will be declared by June 5, 2019. At the end of each NEET 2019 counselling round, the NEET 2019 seat allotment result will be released. In order to qualify NEET 2019, candidates need to score a minimum of 50th percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC category). Only those who qualify the exam would be able to participate in the counselling process and be considered for the process of NEET seat allotment 2019. 

NEET 2019 is a national level entrance test conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS seats in medical and dental colleges around the country, except for AIIMS and JIPMER institutions, who are allowed to conduct their own MBBS entrances.
