About College

Sree Narayana College, Punalur, was established by Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam, in memory of the saint and social reformer, Sree Narayana Guru. Strategically located in the eastern region of Kollam District, the college effectively serves the educational and intellectual needs of hundreds of young men and women.The College was officially inaugurated by Sri. R.Sanker, the then Chief Minister of Kerala, on 15th July 1965.The first Principal of the college was the noted social scientist, Dr. P.Vijayaraghavan. The motto of the college is Liberation through Education. 

Besides the regular University Degree programs, the college conducts Many short-term programs and courses for the all round development of the students. Various clubs and study centers function at the campus to encourage and nurture the literary and inherent talents of its members. A well equipped gymnasium has been set up in the college for the development of the physical and athletic prowess. The college aims and visualizes transferring the preaching of Sree Narayana Guru to the society through education.
