GPM Govt. College is the sole Arts and Science College in the northern part of Kasaragod district. Despite several infrastructural inadequacies, it has played a pivotal part in the educational and cultural advancement of the area. The College makes distinctive and distinguished contribution to the cause of higher education in Arts, Science and Commerce.

The institution stands to serve the requirements of the local folk, the bulk belonging to economically and socially backward classes.
